Despacito, a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi along with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It became the number streaming music of that period within the space of six months. This mix of reggaeton and pop music did not just draw interest back to the genre, but also to Latin music generally. Billboard's Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs from 2016 and two songs in 2015. The Despacito album reached its peak success in 2017 19 songs mostly made in Spanish reached at the very top of 100. The number grew to 41 by 2020. In the wake of Justin Bieber's dual remix Despacito (2017), a number of bilingual remixes Despacito (2017) famous artists soon began collaborating with reggaeton performers including Drake with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) and Madonna and Maluma on Medellin (2019). The mainstreaming of reggaeton was an issue for some artists by the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a younger generation determined to maintain the style. Rauw Alejandro incorporated electronic dance forms and other genres into his songs.
